A viral social media post falsely claims that newly unsealed Jeffrey Epstein documents include a video of a cannibalistic party featuring Epstein carving into a cooked human body. In reality, the footage is entirely fabricated.
The circulating video stems from AI-generated content mixed with behind-the-scenes material from Thanksgiving, a fake horror movie trailer originally created by Eli Roth for Quentin Tarantino’s 2007 feature Grindhouse (which was later adapted into a full-length movie in 2023).
Investigation into the specific clips reveals the following:
- AI Manipulation: The segment showing Jeffrey Epstein carving the roasted figure was produced by TikTok creator @mr.mubasher298, an account known for using AI tools to superimpose his own likeness and historical figures like Epstein into generated scenes. AI-detection analysis confirmed the footage is 99.7% synthetic.
- Source Imagery: Other clips in the video utilize real behind-the-scenes photographs from the production of the Thanksgiving trailer, which are archived publicly on the Quentin Tarantino Archives wiki. Additional imagery tied to the video traces back to older art installations, such as Artists Anonymous’s 2009 Last Supper exhibit, and old Reddit posts.
The U.S. Department of Justice’s official Epstein Library contains millions of verified pages, photographs, and videos, none of which depict or reference any such event. Independent fact-checkers, including Newschecker, Thai PBS, and Tempo English, have similarly debunked the claim.
