A series of fabricated videos featuring prominent Hollywood stars seemingly blasting the Democratic Party while displaying CNN’s logo has surfaced online.
WASHINGTON, DC: As political tensions rise ahead of the 2026 US midterm elections, social media has been flooded with viral clips depicting well-known actors making severe accusations against Democrats.
These posts have gained substantial traction across multiple platforms, fueling ongoing discussions about digital manipulation, artificial intelligence, and the growing threat of election-related misinformation.
The Claim: Hollywood Stars Slam the Democratic Party in Self-Shot Footage
The wave of clips began making the rounds on September 10, 2026, frequently tagged with phrases like “#AllDemocratsAreCriminals.”
The footage prominently features recognizable actors delivering harsh critiques of the Democratic Party, complete with simulated CNN news branding.
In one instance, actress Alyson Hannigan appears to declare, “Today in America, there isn’t a single child who isn’t under threat from Democrats.” Additional social media posts quickly amplified names like Eric Roberts and Jeri Ryan in connection with the trend.
Other manipulated recordings show Emma Caulfield claiming that Democrats “drink our blood,” while a third fabricated video depicts Sarah Jessica Parker labeling both Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and the Democratic Party as “Nazis.”
One widely shared post on X read, “Celebrities are urging people to join the #AllDemocratsAreCriminals movement. The movement is gaining immense popularity, so much so that even celebrities have started talking about it.”
The Reality: The Videos Are Completely Fake
Investigative checks reveal that the creators behind these clips stole genuine video content from unrelated internet sources and manipulated the audio.
For example, a fabricated video starring Julia Roberts was created by adding entirely false voiceovers to footage originally filmed for a 2023 Gucci advertising campaign. Other clips repurposed videos that actors had originally recorded for Cameo, a platform where fans can purchase personalized video messages from celebrities.
Actress Jeri Ryan expressed profound frustration to AFP after discovering a doctored clip that falsely portrayed her claiming the country had been “taken over by perverted Democrats.”
“This obvious propaganda is the polar opposite of my political and social viewpoints,” noted Ryan, who identifies as a Democratic voter. “Stealing my image and identity this way feels incredibly violating.”
Emma Caulfield, famed for her work in ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer,’ shared similar dismay after her Cameo footage was hijacked for the campaign, telling AFP, “I feel violated.” She further denounced the trickery, stating, “This isn’t me, and worse, this cheap imitation is a soulless idiot.”
Similarly, veteran actor Eric Roberts discovered that his personalized Cameo content had been doctored to make it seem as though he was attacking Democrats over transgender policies. Roberts confirmed to AFP that the statements “are not my words and do not represent my beliefs.”
