A viral screenshot on social media claims that Donald Trump slammed the Nobel Committee after missing out on this year’s prize.
WASHINGTON, DC: Amid frequent statements regarding his efforts to end global conflicts and his assertions that he deserves a Nobel Peace Prize, a bizarre online rumor recently sparked widespread discussion. The claim alleged that President Donald Trump lashed out at the Nobel Committee, calling it a “total joke” following this year’s announcement. Because the post quickly gained traction and fueled speculation, a closer look was required to verify its authenticity.
Claim: Donald Trump lashed out at the Nobel Committee for not winning this year’s prize
The rumor originated from a circulating screenshot designed to look like a post from Trump’s official Truth Social profile.
The fake message stated, “Look at the Nobel Committee-a total joke, completely RIGGED, just like the elections in the corrupt, failing Blue States! They just announced the Nobel Peace Prize, and they gave it to someone.”
“NOBODY HAS EVER HEARD OF! Meanwhile. I achieved TOTAL WORLD PEACE! I completely defeated Iran! I destroyed their Navy-wiped them out!”
“And then, just to be sure, I sent high-IQ, top-precision torpedoes to the bottom of the sea to blow up the sunken ships into tiny pieces so they can NEVER be rebuilt! Nobody has ever seen power like that!”
“I threatened to completely white out a civilization, and you know what happened? TOTAL PEACE! Total respect! And look at what else I did for peace: I attacked Venezuela for total peace!”
“I just sent elite troops into Colombia for peace! And I personally gave Netanyahu a massive batch of high-IQ missiles so he could finally bring total peace to Gaza! Incredible, historic moves! But the corrupt Nobel Committee ignores me totally! It’s a complete FRAUD, just like the fake news and the Blue State mail-in ballots!”
Countless individuals shared the graphic across various digital platforms, mistakenly believing it captured a real statement from the former/current president.
Fact Check: Donald Trump never published this statement
In reality, the claim is entirely fabricated. No such message exists on any of Trump’s official social media platforms. Comprehensive searches through his verified Truth Social profile, alongside archival feeds on X that track his statements, confirm that he never made these remarks.
A closer inspection of the image reveals clear indicators that it was doctored. Notably, the graphic includes a watermark explicitly labeling the content as “satire.” Furthermore, the post features impossible timestamps, listing the date as the year “22026” and the time as “13:62 AM.”
The handle displayed in the screenshot is also a dead giveaway: it attributes the quote to “@realDotardTurmp” rather than his actual, authentic username, “@realDonaldTrump.”
