The speculation gained traction following a viral Facebook post asserting that the ‘Star Wars’ actor had remarked, “Get close enough to Trump to take him out.”
Additionally, the post falsely claimed that official public records indicated Hamill had been interrogated and warned that any further violent rhetoric directed at the president would lead to criminal charges for harassment and malicious intent.
While the narrative provoked severe criticism from conservative circles, several other users expressed doubt, questioning whether the actor actually made such a statement.

Although the 74-year-old actor has previously courted controversy for posting a grave-themed image of Trump, there is zero factual basis behind the alleged threat.

Mark Hamill’s actual past remarks regarding Donald Trump
Back in May of this year, Hamill shared a post that featured an AI-generated or altered image appearing to show Trump in a grave.
Accompanying the image, Hamill wrote, “He should live long enough to witness his inevitable devastating loss in the midterms, be held accountable for his unprecedented corruption, impeached, convicted & humiliated for his countless crimes.”
The caption went on to state, “Long enough to realize he’ll be disgraced in the history books, forevermore. #don_TheCON.”
In response to that particular post, the official White House Rapid Response account sharply rebuked the actor, stating, “Mark Hamill is one sick individual.”
The statement added, “These Radical Left lunatics just can’t help themselves. This kind of rhetoric is exactly what has inspired three assassination attempts in two years against our president.”
