The Rumor: FCC Alleges Polls Were Altered to Damage Trump
According to widely shared posts on Facebook, a supposed FCC investigation concluded that multiple major surveys had been altered specifically to defame the commander-in-chief.
The shared articles claimed that a newly formed “Polling Integrity Division” within the agency had handed over more than 20 instances of supposed poll tampering to the Department of Justice.
The misleading reports further accused mainstream media outlets of systematically tampering with survey samples, demographics, and final results to manufacture a false narrative regarding the strength of Trump’s 2024 political efforts.
To add weight to the hoax, the posts attributed sweeping statements to FCC Chairman Brendan Carr, who purportedly called the discovery a massive fraud involving “mathematical adjustments” designed to turn solid Trump leads into trailing deficits.
While many users immediately recognized the post as a joke, several conservative accounts and individuals reacted as though the report were entirely genuine.

The origin of the hoax traces directly back to a Facebook page titled ‘America’s Last Line Of Defense,’ which explicitly states in its profile description that none of the content published on the page is real.
Trump Dismisses Recent Polling Data as “Fake”
The fictional FCC story gained momentum shortly after Trump publicly dismissed a wave of unfavorable survey numbers, branding them as an intentional Republican-discouraging strategy orchestrated by his political opponents.
He condemned the numbers as “fake polls” and accused the “Radical Left Democrats” of carrying out what he termed “Demoralization Operations.”
