However, this narrative is unsubstantiated. Investigations reveal no records of a K9 Valor receiving the Congressional Medal of Honor, nor any dog being awarded this prestigious award. The Congressional Medal of Honor Society’s records and lists of recipients for service in Afghanistan do not include any canine honorees. Furthermore, the timeline presented in some versions of the story conflicts with official reports from the Kabul airport attack, which indicated a single bomber rather than a second explosion.
Additionally, the images accompanying the claim show signs of artificial intelligence generation or editing. Discrepancies in the dog’s injuries (one eye lost versus an image showing injury to the other eye) and inconsistencies in military insignia displayed in the photographs raise further doubts. AI detection tools have confirmed that some of the images were indeed created or modified using AI.
