An image circulating online in June 2026 has been identified as fake. It purports to show an old photograph of U.S. President Donald Trump and his daughter Ivanka Trump alongside deceased sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
While the image is not authentic, it is based on a real photograph of Donald and Ivanka Trump taken in 1991. Artificial intelligence software was used to insert Jeffrey Epstein into this original picture, creating the misleading image. Signs of AI generation, such as Ivanka Trump’s unnaturally bent left hand, were present in the altered image.
An AI detection tool from OpenAI, which uses Google’s invisible watermarking technology called SynthID, confirmed that the image was created using OpenAI’s AI software.
The earliest version of the image found online was posted to Facebook by a user known for sharing AI-generated content. It’s important to note that the original 1991 photograph, which Ivanka Trump herself shared on Facebook in June 2025, does not feature Epstein. Multiple publicly available photos from that 1991 event, which occurred shortly before Ivanka’s 10th birthday, show Donald and Ivanka Trump in the same attire as depicted in the authentic image.
