A link posted to the Miami Heat’s YouTube channel on July 21, 2026, suggested the team was planning a press conference for July 27 to announce the signing of basketball star LeBron James. While the video was quickly made private on YouTube and removed from Google search results, it remained discoverable through Bing and DuckDuckGo searches.
The claim that the link was posted gained traction on social media platforms like Reddit and Instagram. Several news outlets, including Reuters, the Miami Herald, and L’Équipe, also reported on the incident.
Upon investigation, the link titled “LeBron James Introductory Press Conference | July 27, 2026” was indeed found to exist but was set to private on YouTube. Searches on Bing and DuckDuckGo’s video sections confirmed its presence, with the links redirecting to the private YouTube video.
As of this writing, it remains unclear where LeBron James will play for the 2026-27 season. Representatives for both James and the Miami Heat have been contacted for further comment.
