The simulated post opens by referring to Maxwell as “The Highly Respected Ghislaine Maxwell has written a powerful new book, ‘Child’s Play: A Memoir.’”
It continues, stating, “Ghislaine is a Great American Patriot who is all too familiar with LAWFARE like me, and you should support her book!”
The text concludes with, “I see a pardon in her future – This book is for you. Preorder your copy today:”
As the screenshot gained traction and accumulated hundreds of thousands of views across multiple accounts, it sparked widespread debate and disbelief online.
Fact Check: The post from Donald Trump is completely fabricated
In reality, the image is entirely false. A thorough review of Trump’s official Truth Social accounts shows no record of such a message.
Furthermore, reports of Maxwell penning a memoir are entirely untrue. Accompanying images showing Maxwell in prison garb while holding a book were manufactured using artificial intelligence tools.
Given the intense public scrutiny surrounding the release of the Epstein files, an endorsement of this nature would be entirely out of character.
The origin of the post has been traced back to an X account named ‘The Babylon Bibi,’ which explicitly labels its content as satire.
Senate passes bipartisan measure opposing clemency for Ghislaine Maxwell
The emergence of the fake post follows a unanimous vote by the Senate on July 29, approving a resolution that formally opposes any presidential pardon for Maxwell.
Brought forward by Democratic Senator Jacky Rosen, the resolution asserts that Maxwell “should not be granted a Presidential pardon or any form of clemency for her crimes with Jeffrey Epstein relating to the sexual exploitation and abuse of minors.”
“It’s frankly horrifying that Trump would entertain the idea of clemency for even a second for a convicted sex trafficker,” Rosen remarked during a floor speech that day.
Rosen emphasized that the measure sends an unequivocal message to the White House and acting Attorney General Todd Blanche that Maxwell should receive no special consideration.
