The fatal accident, which occurred on May 14, took the lives of four crew members: Generation Jets pilots Keelan Clark and Ali Kawsara, alongside Trans Aero MedEvac flight nurses Sarah Clark and Jamie Novick. This has sparked widespread questions regarding whether the military bears responsibility for the disaster.
Claim: US Military GPS Jamming Triggers New Mexico Plane Crash
Initial discussions regarding the theory emerged in June 2026, gaining substantial traction following an investigative piece published by Wired in late July.
In early August, another publication highlighted the event, stating, “New bombshell reporting by Wired reveals an incident in which the testing of an experimental GPS jammer resulted in a medical plane crashing into the side of a mountain.”
The report continued, “Unfortunately, the disoriented crew ran straight into the side of a mountain they likely never saw, resulting in the loss of every life on board. It’s the first known instance where military GPS jamming played a role in downing a civilian plane in US airspace. Reported incidents of GPS jamming within the continental US have skyrocketed in recent years.”
The narrative quickly gained momentum online, with users expressing astonishment that the story hadn’t received more mainstream attention.

Aside from the fatalities, the crash ignited a wildfire that ultimately scorched over 31,000 acres before firefighters achieved full containment on June 12.
Following the containment of the blaze, The Associated Press noted that the aircraft’s navigation systems experienced disruptions “because the military was jamming that signal throughout the area at the time, although pilots had been warned to expect that.”
However, while these details came from preliminary accident assessments, investigators have stopped short of attributing the crash entirely to military interference.
