A new online allegation suggests that Nancy Guthrie, the mother of ‘TODAY’ show anchor Savannah Guthrie, is buried under a grass lawn in California. This claim has emerged months after she was reported missing on February 1st. Authorities continue to investigate her disappearance as a kidnapping.
The assertion originated from a YouTube video by Richard Alvey, who claims to know the location of Nancy Guthrie’s burial. He described the alleged site as a secluded, gated property at 1675 Scenic View Way in Nipomo, California. Alvey also attempted to connect the property to Frederick Woods, a figure involved in a past kidnapping case, suggesting he resides in the same general area as Nancy Guthrie.
However, there is no official confirmation from law enforcement that Nancy Guthrie is deceased. Her case remains an active kidnapping investigation, and no body or burial site has been discovered. Alvey’s claim is currently unverified and lacks supporting evidence. He himself indicated that the assertion is speculative and not based on confirmed findings, and he has not successfully relayed this information to federal authorities.
The geographic connection also appears weak. While Frederick Woods has ties to property in Nipomo, there’s no established link between him and Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance. Furthermore, Guthrie went missing from Tucson, Arizona, a considerable distance from the claimed California location. The theory also seems to draw on language from previous ransom-style messages that authorities have already deemed not credible, further weakening the basis of this new claim.
